The ocean is closer than you think

We celebrated our first 71.live event on UN World Oceans Day with a small gathering at Kiln, Portland, Oregon. This event was held in person to foster personal connections

The beach was 80 miles away, but the ocean was all around us. We saw how people are reimagining the products and services we use every day to restore and protect it

We found the ocean sneaking into our lives in ways we often don't realize

We talked about how people are reimagining the products and services we use daily

We discovered what kind of problem-solver we might be and how storytelling is the superpower that helps projects grow and have more impact

Kids came too

Since the event was on a Monday evening, some kids came. We set up a kids' playroom stocked with ocean-themed books, stickers, and coloring pages. It was wonderful to welcome them because they brought a beautiful, informal, playful energy - that's the essence of creativity, a pillar of 71.life
